From the Web

If the book I mention below in “From the Shelf” sparks your interest, be sure to give John Place a visit. The book has influenced a couple of his articles of late, my favorite being Hate Your Job? First, Shatter Your Work Prejudice.

7 Habits of Highly Ineffective People is a great read I found over at The Positivity Blog.

Personal Development Partners was launched this week by Aaron from TodayIsThatDay. The site features an excellent forum which I intend to visit regularly, plus a whole lot more….. check it.

From the Shelf

This week I picked up Happier by Tal Ben-Shahar. Although I am only part of the way through it, I feel very confident recommending it. Tal teaches a class on positive psychology at Harvard University (in fact, it is Harvard’s most popular class). So far in the book he has explained his “Hamburger Model of Happiness” and “Lasagne Principle” - anyone would think that food has a lot to do with being happier.

This is a few weeks old now, but if you haven’t seen it Tal appeared on the Daily Show With Jon Stewart.

From the Archives

This week I joined a gym for the first time in a few years. Starting Your Fitness Journey: 10 Things to Consider was a guest article by Scott Bird posted a few months back that I re-read for inspiration.

Thanks

Thanks to Scott H Young who featured 5 Signs You Are On Autopilot in his Friday Links. Also, congratulations to Bryan C. Fleming for making it to the 50th Edition of his Personal Growth Carnival (which features one of my articles). And finally, thank you to all my new subscribers! I can’t believe how quickly this little site of mine is growing.
