Hi Arswino -- thanks for your comment. It seems we usually overlook the fact that spiritual teachings can benefit us in our working lives, but when we see this there's so much useful stuff we can learn.

Hi Christopher, this is truly insightful, and I also like the saying : “If you keep your attention in the body as much as possible, you will be anchored in the Now. You won’t lose yourself in the external world, and you won’t lose yourself in your mind.”
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Tom -- yes, reading that we procrastinate more when we feel like there's more "at stake" was an a-ha moment for me too. It's definitely helped me to stop taking all my projects so dead seriously.

Hi Peter -- thanks for the article -- one key piece I got from it is that, even when (if) we switch off the computer, we still have to contend with our "Web 2.0 minds" just by virtue of the culture we live in.

Chris,

I think you are spot on with your observation that productivity advice tends to ignore what you call "inner productivity", and in doing so is not really addressing a major obstacle to getting things done.

Just last month I wrote an article for Pick The Brain called Taming the Web 2.0 Mind in which I wrote about my difficulties staying focused. So inner productivity is something I have been trying to work on. I appreciate your suggested exercises.
