5 Reasons to Grow Rich

No one needs to tell you why you should grow rich, right? That may be so, but let me ask you this: are you rich? If not read on as I’m going to let you into one of the secrets of growing rich that I have uncovered.

Why are more people not rich? It is certainly not from lack of want. Everyone wants to be rich. Everyone has daydreamed about how they would spend a million dollars. Many, however, do little more than hope a winning lottery ticket will shower them with money.

One of the essential ingredients for self-made wealth that I have identified is a burning desire. This is what turns the want for wealth into inspired action. This article, then, is about awakening in you this burning desire. Knowing why you want wealth will give you purpose and feed your passion. Here then are 5 Reasons to Grow Rich:

1. Opportunity

First and foremost, wealth provides opportunities. Life is full of endless possibilities and it would be naive to not think that money opens the door to many of these. Two of the greatest ways in which people can grow, education and travel, are certainly not cheap these days.

2. Freedom

With money comes the freedom to do what we want, buy what we want and be who we want. Many people feel trapped in boring jobs because they have repayments to make on their mortgage or some other form of personal debt. In these situations, people tend to focus on their survival. But once this need for survival is looked after, people have the freedom to pursue other opportunities that are more closely linked to their interests.

3. Security

Money provides security. In these modern times, expenses relating to such basic needs as shelter and health for us and our dependents have the potential to leave us financially crippled. With wealth comes the peace of mind that should some issue arise, such as a health problem, we at the very least have the financial capacity to tackle it.

4. Power

With money comes power. However, I’m not interested in the satisfaction this gives the ego. I am interested in the power it gives to do good in the world, the power to support worthy causes, the power to look after loved ones, and the power to share with those less fortunate.

5. Enjoyment

Money allows us to enjoy life. We can travel to amazing destinations, purchase beautiful things, eat out at nice restaurants, and have more time to spend with family and friends. It is common knowledge that money issues are one of the greatest causes of stress in relationships. Imagine being without such worries! I don’t believe money is a prerequisite to enjoying life, simply that it is the icing on top of the cake.

Great post. It’s so true. It all starts with a burning desire. You can’t be indifferent in life. Go out and get what you want - No one else can do it for you.

    Great blog!

    Hi Rob,

    Thanks for the comment.

I have always wanted to be rich. I feel that for so long, though, I expected someone else to do the hardwork for me. It is only since I got the news I was to be a dad (a year ago now) that I started to pull my finger out and go for the prize! When I realised that I would have to provide for a family I finally developed the burning desire that I talk about in my article. Hopefully the riches won’t be too far away :).

I agree 100%. It’s ridiculous how in life you always have a slight edge, it’s either working for or gainst you. The longer you can stay in the flow of with the more succesfull you will be. You did realize the #1 rule most don’t get though. You have to start it, you have to do it, you can hire help along the way but you have to close it IF YOU wan to to be rich. If not you will always be the guy hired in the middle. :D Awesome blog. Be sure to apply for the free review and listing once you hit 10 posts. (lol a few weeks ago probably!)

[...] How this motives me: I don’t really care about the material possessions others’ had (although I may have at the time). Looking back, what I recognise is that money gives people opportunities and opens doors (I have written about this in my article 5 Reasons to Grow Rich). [...]
