Excuse me for the error in my previous comment - I mistakenly referred it to Peter when it was David who wrote the article. I guess I had the case of the the mistaken identity problem today!

At any rate, the beauty of spirituality is that you don't necessarily have to go to church to find God. God is all around and inside us. You could go for a walk in nature and find God there. No need for sitting in church pews and hearing the pastor week after week.

Well I don't see any problem in being addicted to books :) .

The point David made in this article about spirituality is also very relevant to me. It is only really in the last year that I have started to awaken to the the fact that there is more to spirituality than religion.

Peter:

I had to smile when I read this article because we all have an addiction of some kind. For me, I have email addiction. LOL

I am also addicted to books and peanut butter pretzels. :)

The reference you made about spirituality not having anything to do with religion hit it right on - I've been telling my subscribers and audiences about that. Spirituality is an alternative way of acknowledging God or some kind of higher being without getting bogged down in rules and regulations imposed upon us by religious men.

Very cool article - I've already stumbled it. Hope you get some good traffic from it.

"Start small" - great advice. When it comes to something such as addictions, you need to get small victories under your belt and progress from there because, lets face it, addictions can be extremely tough to overcome.

Those are the Big Three to change your life for the better. The easy way out is to pop a pill or down a drink or two, but those only numb the body and soul. Start small--just ten minutes of each per day will have you coming back for more. Great post and really so simple to begin.
