I am feeling the loss of Randy Pausch today. I was saddened to learn of his passing but I just have a feeling that he wouldn’t have wanted to world to mourn his death. Instead, he’d prefer that we celebrate his life and those of ours – to make every minute count for something.

He certainly impacted me in unlimited ways and I’m grateful the world got to know him through his “Last Lecture” video and best-selling book. Did you know that the last lecture video was captioned by taudiobook.com? For those readers of yours who rely on captioning, it is here: http://www.taudiobook.com/clos.....usch_full/

God bless him – we’ll all be seeing him when it’s our time to “go home.”

I saw that he passed away on CNN. You really have to admire his grace and how he inspired people to live their very best lives until his final moments.

One of Randy’s greatest messages was that much of life is “accidental.” He urged his students, and those who would listen, to forge a deliberate path but to keep an eye open for those unexpected opportunities that come along.

His “Last Lecture” was one of those deliberate actions but what followed (the massive internet attention and a subsequent book) was “accidental…” yet he was ready for the opportunity because he had formed the habit of “expecting the unexpected.”

In a way, his passing is the ultimate symbol for leveraging the unexpected to our own benefit and for the benefit of the world at large…

Randy has been on my mind today as well. I heard the news in the morning, then had to go out to do some errands. When I got home one of the first things I did was watch this video as I couldn’t stop thinking about the man. It’s a truly inspirational video, and one that should be watched every few months imo…..
