I've been following Randy's progress on his personal website. I've put three pictures of him with his family in my latest post at Cheerful Monk.

One of Randy's greatest messages was that much of life is "accidental." He urged his students, and those who would listen, to forge a deliberate path but to keep an eye open for those unexpected opportunities that come along.

His "Last Lecture" was one of those deliberate actions but what followed (the massive internet attention and a subsequent book) was "accidental..." yet he was ready for the opportunity because he had formed the habit of "expecting the unexpected."

In a way, his passing is the ultimate symbol for leveraging the unexpected to our own benefit and for the benefit of the world at large...

"Every person, all the events of your life, are there because you have drawn them there. What you choose to do with them is up to you." ~ Richard Bach

I saw that he passed away on CNN. You really have to admire his grace and how he inspired people to live their very best lives until his final moments.

Randy has been on my mind today as well. I heard the news in the morning, then had to go out to do some errands. When I got home one of the first things I did was watch this video as I couldn't stop thinking about the man. It's a truly inspirational video, and one that should be watched every few months imo.....

PS - thanks for linking to the taudiobook
