roundup

Warning - this is going to be a very self-indulgent Sunday Roundup. All the same, there should hopefully be something of interest to you in here.

From the Internet

How I Got 500+ New Subscribers In September: this was a thread I started in the Steve Pavlina forums. Basically it outlines the 5 most important things I have done in the past month that have helped my subscriber numbers balloon. It should be an interesting read for the bloggers out there.

From the Shelf

Sophie’s World - Jostein Gaarder: this book is a great read for anyone interested in philosophy. I read it some time ago now, but I was prompted to flick through it again this week whilst writing my Descartes article. It weaves a very accessible history of philosophy into the fictional story of a young girl who becomes embroiled in a discussion of philosophy with a faceless correspondent.

Other Stuff Happening on thechangeblog.com

Ok, it’s been a busy week here as I have been making lots of little tweaks and changes. Firstly, thank you to the subscriber who brought to my attention I wasn’t offering a full feed. This has now (hopefully) been fixed! Also, I have updated my Recommended page with some new stuff.

Finally, you may have noticed that I have started to monetize the site. Rest assured the main purpose of this site will always be to help you and me live our best lives. That said, I am hoping that I can start making enough to cover the hosting and finance my ever expanding “To Read” list.
