Well…. I Have a New Job

No, I haven’t taken the plunge and quit my 9-5 job (small steps remember…). Nor am I running away to join the circus (although come to think of it I can juggle…). I have, however, accepted a job as a Contributing Editor on Pick The Brain.

I am extremely excited about this opportunity for a few reasons:

  1. Income: John has made me a very generous offer so this new job will be another healthy stream of income for me.
  2. Profile: I am already starting to experience some benefits from having a reasonably well known blog. I am hoping an increased online profile will open even more doors to exciting new opportunities.
  3. A New Challenge: Pick The Brain is a great site, but I have a number of ideas to make it even better!

In case you are wondering, John will still be very much involved with the site. Much of his attention, though, is focused on an exciting new online project which I’m sure you will hear about in due course (it is going to be great!).

You may also be wondering: “how the heck does Peter plan to take on another job and still stay on top of everything else (this blog, his health, being a good husband, father, and employee)?” Good question! Let me first say that this isn’t a rash decision. This job was offered to me over a month ago so I have had plenty of time to think it over. Early next week I’ll let you into my world and give you some specific examples as to how I will be managing myself.

So today is my first official day as an editor for PTB. I have an article posted there today which I’m sure you will enjoy: 10 Morning Habits to Build Your Day Upon. If you want to email me for anything regarding PTB - whether it to submit a guest article, give a suggestion or simply say “hi” - my email is peter@pickthebrain.com.

Finally, a big THANK YOU to everyone who has helped to make this site what it is, whether you subscribe to my RSS Feed, receive regular email updates, have written a guest post for me, take the time to comment after my posts, vote for my articles using any of the social media, or simply just visit this blog every so often and enjoy what I have to say. I appreciate your support, and you are a major factor as to why this new opportunity has come about.

John couldn’t have “picked” a better “brain” for the job!

Congratulations… and early congratulations on breaking 2000 subscribers, too (I know you aren’t there yet, but I’m quite certain you will be soon).

Hopefully it won’t be too long before you find enough income streams to leave the 9-5 behind.

Congrats! I love PTB. It is a great site. I aspire to getting an article published there someday soon. Also, I really like your site here. I admire your ability to juggle all that you have going on and do it all so well. Great job!

Congratulations Peter, I have to admit that I have not checked out Pick the Brain very much but will start too now. It is funny how we get involved in the great blogs we find first and are slow to venture out to other good ones. Good luck and I’m sure you will be a success!

Bravo, Peter! I’m so happy for you and so proud of you. I love reading iwillchangeyourlife. Pick the Brain is something I’ve never seen before; but now that you are affiliated with it, I will have to check it out. With your input, I’m sure it will be another terrific and inspiring read.

Hey Peter, I noticed you changed the photo from a diving lady to a juggling lady. Did someone complain about the “nudity”? :-)

I like the new picture…it goes with the topic. I was a bit confused by the first one.
